Mumma has to go to work

Mumma has to go to work
Mumma wants to be with you all day long
Doing those animated talks and sing you a song

Mumma wants to see every time you smile
Coos and giggles, sweet little nothings
For Mumma Its all worthwhile

But mumma has to go to work
Mumma wants to sleep always by your side
Everytime you wake up , Mumma wants to be right beside
Mumma wants to nourish you with her milk
pamper you to the core , admire even as you blink

But Mumma has to go to work
I know you love sleeping cuddled in my arms
I know the lullaby I sing makes you calm
Know that Mumma’s love will never dwindle
You are mumma’s little charm and will always be
Your everlasting smile will never fade as Mumma will Kindle
With lots of fun , lots of love and into the fairy world we will flee.

Not sure I am explaining it you or to myself
Mumma is strong and betu is a champ
Its true feelings I have put into words
Bcos Betu’s Mumma has to go to work !!

For a child the world is as beautiful as the Mother

Motherhood such a life changing experience. It’s overwhelming, not difficult but demanding, but you will never even for a sec complain about it. That’s the beauty of Motherhood, it melts you literally, for me it has made me happier joyous. Innocence, affection, love, these words now are much more than the meaning, they are real feelings now.

I am writing this to share my experience with the new Moms and to be moms, while pregnant I enjoyed reading real stories from moms across the world on the web, so my attempt to give back.
For a child the world is as beautiful as the Mother. So be kind, love a lot, keep smiling, be happy, make faces, do the animated talks. Lift up, cuddle, and sing. My personal belief love never spoils indiscipline does. Be prepared you will hear lots of stories from the veterans – how their baby had achieved developmental milestones way ahead of time. Do not get carried away- I always tell people mine is a human child and has got no super human genes ( I only get see super human movies J );   will achieve all the developmental milestones at a natural pace. All kids are different, they have different ways of doing things, some achieve some milestones early, some take their own time, some run through all milestones at once. So enjoy their infancy and let them have their own time to explore themselves and the world around.

“Perfect mom”.  You want that title right, but from whom? No point in toiling it out to impress others.   Just be a happy Mom to a happy and healthy baby, and that’s what the perfection in motherhood is all about. There are no best practices apart from the ones recommended by docs, to massage once or twice or thrice, to bathe once or twice, to put in a cradle or to co sleep, to bottle-feed or not to bottle-feed, to use diapers or not to use, whatever works best for you and your baby in maintaining health and hygiene is the best practice.

Please follow Pediatrician’s advice. If need be consult two three and then choose one that is best suited for you. A lot of ppl especially older ones will tell “ Let the doctor say we had many kids we used to do it this way”  Find your way out of this and let them know times have changed, and yes docs are sitting there for a reason.

Every new mom will learn it the hard way, like I did, Babies do cry, sometimes they cry a lot. Try not to be too concerned about it, (I am still trying: P ) soon you will discover ways to soothe your baby and learn the terms- colic gassiness growth spurts and blame it all to them. If the crying doesn’t stop, visit the ped, don’t know what it is with the ped , babies feel fine just by seeing them , most of the time it would be nothing. There are lots of parenting apps available, it’s worth to have one. You will find lot of ideas to engage with the baby and useful info about various growth stages. If you like to read, read the poem Baby’s way by Rabindranath Tagore. And if you like to read, do all the reading before baby comes, you will hardly get anytime to do the reading afterwards.

Do breastfeed. There is a lot to be said about this a lot. Please consult your doctor about breastfeeding, beforehand, before delivery, ask all the questions you would have, like does it hurt, is it necessary, anything that comes to your mind , do ask if the hospital staff is updated on lactation practices. I can write another blog on this. But here are the few important points – lactation is the function of mind, every women can breastfeed, and every women needs to learn it. Go to a secluded place, engage with the baby, put on some nice music and feed. Feed on demand.  It’s basically supply and demand principle, the more you feed the more you produce. I followed these tips and it all worked very well for me.
For some reason if you cannot just don’t stress about it. It’s alright, remember most important thing – Happy Mommy Happy Baby.

To be a working Mom or a stay at home mom , you will get a lot of advice, but decide what’s good for you and your family and remember you are not answerable to anyone else on this , your baby your life your decision. Many people will talk what kind of a mother you are , that you left the baby at crèche , or they will complain that you left a worthy career and doing the household chores ; don’t bother at all they will judge you anyways. Take your own decisions after all you are a mother now, you need to be strong decisive and thoughtful.

Last but important thing, I have thoroughly enjoyed my pregnancy, not that there were no red flags or ups and down, in fact there were way too many , and now I am enjoying my life every moment with my son and the credit to make it all so beautiful and comfortable for me goes to my family. My mom especially, see the motherhood at play. So my suggestion would be, yes you would need support and help so be at a place where you are comfortable and happy. Your feelings resonate with the child, trust me it does, in the womb and as well as once they are out.

So Mommies enjoy, you are a creator and nurturer. You are going to shape up the child you bear, with your thoughts actions and decisions. Make the child feel this world is about love and liveliness. And as my sis in law always puts it out –“ its your chance to relive your childhood with the baby”, don’t miss on that, have fun , do crazy things with the baby they love it, but remember the mess has to be cleared by you .. J Love all.

Arising from our thoughts and dreams

Arising from our thoughts and dreams
Now that you are already a part of us
We can’t hold our excitement and imaginings

How would it be for when you will be part of our space

what would you like of it what would you appreciate
how would you feel in our world not so perfect

Know the world where you are coming to be a beautiful arcade

It presents wonderful things to marvel on, things to cherish and be amazed
The Sun , The moon , The trees, The Colours ,The flowers
The whole cosmos, The air, The fire,  The Water and The ether
how's  everything in a perfect harmony, so stunning, so sacred

This world is truly a wonder, a phenomenon unexplained

Each one of us are given strands to create our legend
These are strands of love, joy, compassion and courage
also present are strands of hatred, lies, intolerance, and outrage
what would one’s world be, depends on how they appraise
which ones they abandon, which ones they commend

We vow to provide you an atmosphere of tranquillity peace and grace

We vow to keep you away from the senselessness of hatred, religion and race
You will be a free spirited soul, wise and enlightened
Follow your path, achieve your goals, realize your purpose
Add to this world more of affection, set an example  for the humankind-  be The Ace.

Wish if only we could break free from this religious trap and take cognizance of the obvious.

While to choose or not to choose Yoga  for physical and mental fitness and well-being can be a matter of personal choice. Some people might just feel much better doing cardio, outdoor sports, gym anything that suits.

But bringing in the religious angle to decide for or against Yoga is ridiculous. The recent debate on whether the Sun is of a Particular religion and Moon is of the other is just so outrageous.

How can one choose between the Sun & the Moon. How can one live on earth and not admire sun for its light, energy, warmth, for the new day it brings, those first rays that disperse in the sky, across the mountains, over the waters, that color and shades of the morning sky as day slowly breaks from the darkness of night. And the ever welcoming, reassuring and comforting companion of our nights- The Moon. How can one resist appreciating the Poise and beauty of a moonlit night? The calmness that it brings after the day’s hustle-bustle.

Is the human kind going to be so dumb to be fooled by these self-proclaimed akas and brokers of religion to see the universe, colors, and atmospheres from the shades of religion decided by the sorts?
So whatever religion one follows and for whatever reason clings on even to the irrationalities associated with it due to deliberate misinterpretation of the ancient text, atleast have brains to think that the religion cannot be bigger than the cosmos. You cannot ever see a bigger miracle than the Sunrise and Moonshine, the perfect balance and magnificence of the interstellar space.

Wish if only we could break free from this religious trap and take cognizance of the obvious.

Gods & Their Miracles

Are the wonder stories associated with our Gods the reason behind our acceptance and surrender towards them or there is something more to it. Can we accept our Gods without the miracle stories that are associated with them.

For eg. Suppose Child Krishna never held up the Govardhan Parvat, or Killed the Serpent Kalia, Lord Hanuman Never actually flew with the mountain in his hand, likewise there are these wonder stories associated with Lord Ram  ..Lord shiva , Goddess Durga, Goddess Parvati.. every God we can think of

Lets for the time being suppose these were all just folklores and eliminate these wonder stories from their lives. Would we still recognize them as our Gods? Let’s ponder upon their lives without these miracles. For example let’s talk about Krishna- Krishna stole butter from neighborhood, danced with girls, Krishna who stole clothes of girl bathing in the river, eloped with his wife, provoked Arjuna for war when he could have stopped it, once ran away from the battlefield, only to be named as Rannchhod. Krishna’s clan Yadav’s were fighting among themselves and were getting miserable day by day.

That doesn’t fit into the description of a God isn’t it!! All the above is so human, and the description of the Gods that we are accustomed to is that of a Perfectionist and Flawless being; but these stories too are as true as those wonder stories if not more.

So are these miracle stories the reason that convinces us to accept and believe in our Gods. These stories tell something that is incomprehensible, largely undoable for humans. They depict a larger than life image, powers beyond the dimensions of human capacity. These stories lead us to accept that they were special, superior, they have powers and only they have those powers. Now that we conclude that they are much superior to us we also need to have a story for their birth and death. They cannot be born and die like us mortals, that doesn’t go well with the description of God, we have created and accepted, so we agree that they ascend and descend for a purpose.

Sure enough there has to be a purpose and there is a purpose for everyone born on this earth, the difference is they were the people who could find their purpose in life and endeavored to realize it. The difference is they knew Life, they understood life while we just wander around all our life heedlessly not knowing the real purpose. They are the accomplished ones.

The  Aim should not be to idolize these Great Personalities but to idealize and strive to achieve what they had achieved - The Conscious Living.

My Dream My Destiny

I have a dream, dream of happier times
Every thought of it is a melodious rhyme
It’s the dream that keeps me going
It’s so profound as if my universe is echoing
I am sure its bound to come true and its just a matter of time
I deserve it and I will live it cos its truly mine

Dear Destiny you better have same plans
After all you belong to me and you ought to be the way I want
Sure you have powers over my will
You can turn it all around and let my hopes spill
But hope you realize it’s the dream that I sow
Makes me love you even after your harshest blow

Destiny -
Dear Self I am you not the other one
Don’t blame me for what you cannot earn
I am that hidden subtle thoughts that you breed
Its upto you to tune me with your actions and deeds
Clear your conscience and unclutter your mind
Do away with all the fears and doubts and see the miracle unwind

If You are Hurt ; Heel !!

If you are hurt; heel,
If you have been overlooked, let someone know they are valued
If you have been betrayed, assure others to count on you in dread

If you have been let down; live up to someone’s expectation
If you think world isn’t all that beautiful, ensure you make someone do away with that impression

It’s all about how you make others feel. So if you are hurt, go out and heel

Let not the adversities take away your kindness,
with every blow ensure more of love you sow
stand for your true self with utter politeness

But don’t expect the world to return the gesture,
Favors expected in return disgraces acts of compassion
The Giving in itself is the reward, and that of the highest stature
It lets you connect with your own self and reveal its true passion

Because it’s all about how you make others feel,
eventually you feel what they feel,
and that strengthens your conviction, every time you are hurt you go out to heel!!!
